St. Rose Parish – Marriage Preparation Requirements
For couples preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Rose Parish, Sacramento

Before You Begin

• The first step is to meet with Father after Sunday Mass to petition the Sacrament of Marriage.
• Your wedding date must be set at least six (6) months in advance.
•  This initial meeting will begin your preparation process.
• Any questions or concerns should be addressed directly with Father at that meeting.

Required Documents
Sacramental Certificates (for both Bride and Groom). Must be issued within six (6) months of the wedding date.

• Baptismal Certificate
• First Holy Communion
• Confirmation Certificates
• Affidavits 4 total (the office provides these)
• Marriage license

**Additional documents may be required depending on individual circumstances. Please consult with the Father.

Affidavits Forms
Form A: Pre-Marriage Testimony 

• One form per person. (Groom & Bride)
• Completed with our Volunteer Marriage Coordinator

Form B: Pre-Nuptial Witness Testimony

• Four (4) witnesses total, two (2) per Groom and Bride.
• Each witness must present a valid photo ID.
• Completed with our Volunteer Marriage Coordinator.

Civil Marriage License

• Bring your current license if already civilly married.

Or

• Obtain a new license before the ceremony.

Pre-marital clasess
Many parishes offer in-person classes in and around our area. We unfortunately do not. Classes may be completed online or in person (a certificate of completion is required).

Para parejas que se preparan para celebrar el Sacramento del Matrimonio en St. Rose, Sacramento

Antes de Comenzar

• Reunión inicial con el Padre: Después de la Misa dominical, se debe reunir con el Padre para recibir orientación y aclaración sobre los requisitos del Sacramento del Matrimonio. Esta reunión marca el inicio de su preparación
• La fecha de la boda debe fijarse con al menos seis (6) meses de anticipación.
• Cualquier pregunta o inquietud debe dirigirse directamente al Padre.

Documentos Requeridos
Certificados Sacramentales (para Novia y Novio) deben ser recientes, emitidos en los últimos 6 meses antes de la boda.

• Certificado de Bautismo

• Certificado de Primera Comunión
• Certificado de Confirmación
• Afidávits 4 total (la oficina prevé estos)
• Licencia de matrimonio civil

**Es posible que se requieran documentos adicionales según su situación individual. Favor de consultar con el Padre.

Formulario A – Testimonio Prematrimonial

• Un formulario por persona. (Novio y Novia)
• Completado con nuestro Coordinador Voluntario de Matrimonio

Formulario B – Testimonio de Testigos Prenupciales

• Cuatro (4) testigos en total, dos (2) por novio y novia.
• Cada testigo debe presentar identificación con foto válida
• Completado con nuestro coordinador

Licencia de Matrimonio Civil

• Traer su licencia actual si ya están civilmente casados
• O bien, obtener una nueva licencia antes de la ceremonia

Clases de pre-matrimonial;
Muchas parroquias ofrecen clases presenciales en nuestra área y sus alrededores. Lamentablemente, nosotros no las ofrecemos. Pueden completarse en línea o presencialmente (se requiere un certificado de haber completado)
